WIND announces the new IP Peering Policy which will now apply to both existing and future IP peering interconnections of the company. The new policy is addressed to Telecommunication Providers and Content / Service Providers in national & international level, is “SELECTIVE” type and sets out in detail the terms and conditions for IP traffic exchange.
The new policy has been developed by IP Network Planning & Engineering and the full text is available on the company's new wholesale services website at https://www.windwholesale.gr/web/wind-wholesale/data/ip-peering.
Moreover, a new IP interconnection was successfully completed at the new Greek Internet Exchange (www.gr-ix.gr) node in Thessaloniki city. The new GR-IX node (THESS01) is the fourth in Greek territory, will be hosted at SynapseCom's neutral Data Center and is added to the existing three nodes in the Athens area. The new interconnection will provide WIND consumer and corporate customers in Northern Greece with an improved internet experience due to the even lower latency in IP traffic exchange to all national and international networks that are present in Thessaloniki node. In addition, its operation significantly strengthens the geographical redundancy at interconnection level compared to the corresponding one in the Athens area.
